Trunks's parents are Bulma and Vegeta. Since his father is a Saiyan and his mother was born on earth, Trunks is half Saiyan and half earthling. There are two types of Trunks in Dragonball Z: Future Trunks and Chibi Trunks.

Future Trunks came back into the past because his world was being taken over by Cyborg 17 and 18 and he was the only one that survived. He thought that the reason was because many of the strong fighters, including Goku, Vegeta, and Gohan, were dead. But the main reason that he went back was to revive Goku. At the time, Goku died of a rare heart disease and wasn't alive to help Trunks's world. So Trunks went back into the past and gave Goku the cure for the disease. He still believed that the outcome of his world could not be changed no matter who was there, but he went back to see how much it would change and to get stronger and prepare to help his world. But the outcome of Trunks's world had changed a lot. The Cyborgs were defeated and some even became friends. Trunks finds out that he became much stronger also.

Chibi Trunks was a strong Saiyan also. He learned how to transform into a Super Saiyan at a young age like Goten. They are best friends throughout the series. Goten and Chibi Trunks fuse together to form Gotenks and can even go into third form Saiyan.



Trunks has a baby sister, Bra.
